🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Share Anger About Sizing Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change. Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification than originally posted due to the recalibration. The company said the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
