Fresh Particulars Come to Light Regarding the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Remains

Recent details have emerged regarding the untimely demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

A Initial Report

According to a report quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after failing to get inside the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the home, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now being held and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family challenged several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

The source also disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to descriptions of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
