Details of the Serious Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021. A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Police Inquiry The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley. The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges The charging documents said the forty-five charges comprise: 15 counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of penetrative assault. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
