This December, Fallout 76 is preparing to launch its most significant expansion in several years. Named Burning Springs, this fresh content transports players to the Buckeye State for a collection of new content modeled after Fallout 3 and New Vegas. This expansion will also link to the next new episodes of the television adaptation by incorporating The Ghoul to the game, with complete voice acting by the acclaimed actor.

Significant Update

Burning Springs will constitute the latest patch for Fallout 76 after its initial release in 2018. Before the formal declaration, participants at a preview event got to explore post-apocalypse Ohio for a limited time.

Inspired by Classics

While the expansion is not located in locations from Fallout 3 and New Vegas, the creators aimed to get ideas from those popular games by highlighting "deserts, deathclaws, and raiders". The additional zone, situated on the left side of the map, converts Ohio into a scorched arid landscape. Rather than including buildings from New Vegas, the area presents small references, such as an forgotten mini-golf location populated by ancient reptile figures. Additionally, the region focuses on a main town called Highway Town, where players can use the latest contract hunting feature.

Contracts are the key addition of the recent content, as they are connected to The Ghoul.

The NPC, fully voiced by the talented actor with original dialogue written for the game, provides participants hunting tasks that send them around Ohio hunting down enemies to defeat. The simpler form of these tasks are called Grunt Hunts, but gamers can also take on more powerful bosses in Elite Bounties, which are larger public events that several participants can complete jointly. The contracts available during the demo involved eliminating a powerful foe found within a group of marauders.

Fresh Content and Updates

The content drop will introduce more weapons, equipment, and aquatic creatures to the game, in addition to a new pig camp pet named Hog Meat. The region also features additional groups and personalities as part of its narrative. In the tasks played in the demo, users were given the objective of stirring up a uprising against the the metallic foe. This entailed finishing a set of objectives—such as taking out marauders, using fire-based attacks, and landing critical hits with the targeting mechanic—to earn trust with the foe before gathering locals to the mission by helping them solve their problems.

Additional Co-op Missions

Fresh co-op missions are in the update as well. During the demo, participants engaged in both the Gear Collection and Hole Management events. The first one required gamers and their squads searching for cogs in an arena filled with foes and slotting them into a machine under a ticking clock. The other mission sent participants into a hazardous sinkhole full of mutated creatures and challenged them with eliminating successive enemy spawns while steering clear of their venomous assaults.

Release Details

Burning Springs has not received a specific drop date yet, but it is planned to debut in December to approximately coincide with the mid-December launch of the next TV installment. The Ghoul, including his recognizable face and recorded dialogue, will be made available on the {public test server|PT
